Kinnauri Kala Jeera is an herbaceous spice grown in high altitude (11000 ft)of wild forest areas of Kinnaur. Having many health benefits it also adds to unique and pleasant taste to food due to its rich aroma. In ancient days Kala/Shahi Jeera was main ingredient to all Shahi Mughlai cuisines due to its warm, sweet aroma. It added exclusive taste to many veg./non-vegetarian dishes.

Kinnauri Kala Jeera can be a very healthy substitute for your regular Jeera as it also helps in boosting your immune system and promoting healthy blood circulation. It can be an excellent home remedy for bloating ,gastric disorders ,piles ,insomnia ,common cold .It also aids many other health concerns like lactation problems ,cognitive issues (weak memory),diabetes(controlling blood sugar),weight loss .

As to promote such natural products, Govt of Himachal Pradesh has registered Kala Jeera Under GI (Geographical Indication) Act 1999 and has been allotted Registration No. 432.
